THE FROZEN ZANSKAR-CHADAR TREK
Walk on and along the ice sheet that is the Zanskar river in winter,on a 15-18 day trek of around 105km from Chilling to Padum and back, or Chilling, Hanumil, Pishu and back.Temperatures can fall to -30degrees at night, rising to a match warmer zero degrees during the day, and the area is hopelessely remote. That's right, it's a cracker of a trek. Start and finish at Chilling (no pun,really),55 km from Leh, anytime from January to mid-February.
