RAFTING FROM REMELA TILL ALCHI

RAFTING FROM REMELA TILL ALCHI

Go on a week-long trip and cover approximately 180km rafting down the Doda river, which has cut its way through the Zanskar gorge, and is said to be India's answer to the Grand Canyon. Start from Remala, near kargil, and end at Alchi,60 km from Leh. The rapids build up from Class II to Class IV as you travel down the Doda via Karsha,Pidmu, Nyerak and Nimu. Not only is the view spectacular, as you are surrounded by towering 6,000m-high peaks, but the river also offers a great build-up of rapids right from the beginning of the trip up to the very end, putting amateurs at their ease while staying continually interesting for professionals. July to September is the best time to hit the waters.
